When it comes to HDB homes, many people tend to think of them as being simple and unassuming. However, it is possible to transform even the most humble of HDB units into a stylish and modern home that is perfect for any family.

For this project, we transformed an old Jumbo HDB unit into a chic and contemporary home for a family of five. The goal was to create a space that was both functional and stylish. To create an open layout, we demolish most of the structural walls in the space. This not only makes the space appear larger, but it also allows more natural light into the home and allows for an open-concept cooking/entertaining area.

A sliding glass screen separates the wet and dry areas of the kitchen, preserving the open views and spacious feel of the Jumbo flat while also keeping out cooking smells.

The sleek and colourful design is set off by the green wall, which injects a touch of nature into the space. The warm colour palette and vibrant furnishings are carefully curated to create an inviting and welcoming atmosphere. And with plenty of room for the whole family to spread out, this flat is the perfect place to call home.

The family's love of reading is evident in their living room, which features a customised bookcase with adjustable shelves. The television set has been cleverly hidden behind moveable panels to transform the space into an elegant library without sacrificing comfort or ease for those who enjoy spending time on screen as well.

The original master bedroom was converted into a shared kid's room with a play zone for the couple's three children. The children's bathroom was also extended to improve its functionality and make it more kid friendly.

Each of the three bathrooms in this Jumbo unit has a different style, making them all unique and adding a fun element to the space.

Full-height glass panels divide the sleeping area from the bathroom in their master bedroom, which has been expanded to create an 'open-concept' design, at the same time, blinds can be drawn for privacy.

We turned an old HDB Jumbo unit into a modern,  chic,  and stylish sanctuary that perfectly reflect the personalities of our clients.
