Kaori Atelier is a contemporary yet cosy café in Duxton Hill. Our client approached us to help them design a space where one feels relaxed and comfortable spending their day in.

Design Zage draws inspiration from the cafes in the neighbourhoods of Tokyo and assembled a variety of materials and decorations to recreate the feeling of a peaceful and chic Japanese café.

Inspired by the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-Sabi which is the complete opposite of flawless minimalist design, finding beauty in imperfection is the essence. Through the use of nature materials like wood and stones, and the imperfect finishing touches, the result is a place infused with warmth and relaxation.

The intention of the space is to make one feels as if they are enjoying their brunch and coffee in a quieter neighbourhood of Tokyo
