Designed with a modern resort-chic style in mind, this Executive Maisonette at Hougang by Design Zage offers the client the best of both worlds, it serves in part as a studio for her work as a makeup and hair stylist, and also spaces to retreat from it.

A resort-like atmosphere is created using different types of wood that can co-exist in a single space. We introduced materials they can touch, for instance, walking barefoot on the wooden floor is a relaxing sensation.

The minimalist green balcony, which is typically a part of the living room, has been extended into the master bedroom which creates a calm, laid-back ambiance that is akin to being on an island retreat. The luxury of space and proximity to nature also add to the cosy, tropical sanctuary vibes.

As our client enjoy gatherings with their family and friends, having a dining room large to enough to fit a big table and a functioning open-plan kitchen spacious enough to prepare meals is evident in our design approach. We want it to be freed from the conventional restrictions of four walls and allow the dining space to merge seamlessly with the living room, giving a simple ease to living and entertaining.

We have incorporated marble and exotic wood to provide the kitchen bar with an elegant, yet functional atmosphere. Wood adds a natural touch to a space with glossy finishes and contributes in the creation of a relaxing atmosphere.

Typically, one would think that the walk-in wardrobe is a part of the master bedroom, but the client is willing to innovate and optimise the storage space, so we decided to transform the walls along the corridor walkway leading to the bedrooms, into a colossal walk-in wardrobe.

The walk-in shower is an essential room for our well-being, it should make one feel relaxed and refreshed. We have introduced nature stone for the floor tiles and walls to give the bathroom a spa-like touch and incorporated a Rain Shower for a rejuvenating shower experience.
